i applied in another company for a position very similar to my previous job. luckily, they are considering me for the position. now, it got me very confused if i should stay or leave my current job.

 advantages of current:

• good company name
• mornings can be spent with my baby (madami ngyayari sa buhay ng isang bata sa umaga so pwede na kesa naman buong araw talaga ako wala–still sulking over cancellation of work-from-home benefit)
• reimbursable globe, pldt and dsl
• good medical coverage (me and family)

advantages of the other:

• this is the type of work that i really want
• business trips
• my four-year work experience will be of very good use
• i’ll be one of the pioneers on their philippine branch

salary is out of the question because the take-home that i’ll get from the other company’s new offer is just a few bucks away from what i’m getting now. this is because of our company’s flat 15% tax. kung icocompare mo sya sa offer nung kabila minus philippine tax, hay halos same lang.

ok, exagg. ndi nmn few bucks away. malaki din ang difference. kaya lng yung difference na yun, is not enough to compensate dun sa effort na ieexert ko for that new job. mukhang magiging puro OT ako from mondays to fridays. though, i specifically told them no work on saturdays and sundays.

contradicting ito kasi the reason i wanted to leave my job is my disappointment over the  work-from-home benefit. less time with baby. if i accept the offer, lalo lang walang time with baby. hmmm.

naisip ko nmn, with the new job offer, at least i get to follow my passion (embedded systems engineering).

parang it boils down to deciding between time for my baby and my passion ah?
