my day

Hep, look at the time. 12:00 am 31st of December. Happy birthday to me!!! (or birth anniversary, whatever)

Today is the last day of the year. I’ve been putting off tags (after the vacation na yung choo choo train ha) but i’d like to blog one more time for the year 2007.

I realized that this blog had been a witness to BG’s milestones (gee, i blogged about her first success to stand!), my mood swings over my career, and my frustrations on scrapbooking.

Even hubby’s scrutiny. (if you thought you read something here but now can’t find it. you’re probably right: deleted. it’s bec he thought i’ve divulged too much) Why, do you think, his pictures or blog about him is so limited here?

;)

2007 was a very busy year. I’m hoping for a busier year come 2008. (but this time no more prolonged party preps. promise.)…

Love, time for the family, stability, career direction, and work-life balance. We are hoping that all these grow steadily in 2008 onwards.

Happy New Year!

Laguna by Childstar

I’ve blogged before that my brother is into bands. I’m not sure why I didn’t blogged that they were interviewed over the radio (Jam 88.3) this month. And they have a single being played now over the radio. It’s the remake of the Sampaguita original “Laguna”. And they are coming up with their own album early next year.

Anyway, if you are an early riser (or still not sleeping), catch the band “CHILDSTAR” at Umagang Kayganda (ABS-CBN Channel 2) on January 2, 2008 at 5:15am.

My brother is the lead guitarist. (Mind you, this is the same brother who, like me, is into robotics and microcontrollers. He’s an active member of Mapua Robotics team. Yes, he’s still young, still in college.)

The lead singer is the one who writes the songs but my brother helps her in putting “music” to it. Oh, oh! The lead plays the harmonica. I just love harmonica. (Basically the reason why I rooted for Taylor Hicks from the very start when I saw his little stint during the eliminations.) Their style is a bit like “moonpools and caterpillars”.

Let’s support OPM!

acting my age…not!

I am often mistaken as a 27-year-old. Sometimes even younger. I’ve always thought it’s the height.

But i’m starting to suspect it’s something else:

You Act Like You Are 27 Years Old

You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel like an adult, and you’re optimistic about life.
You feel excited about what’s to come… love, work, and new experiences. You’re still figuring out your place in the world and how you want your life to shape up.
The world is full of possibilities, and you can’t wait to explore many of them.

What Age Do You Act?

Wait a minute. “You’re still figuring out your place in the world and how you want your life to shape up.”

Oops, wrong!

Enfakid and KLIM the same?

If you advertise a milk brand, your target would be the parents right? More likely the mothers right?

So am i the only one who remembers that Lea Salonga had been the endorser for KLIM for years (when she was younger up until her early teen years)?

And now she has this tv ad that insuates she grew up drinking Enfakid.

O c’mon!

Anyway, I hope pinay moms are smart now to know that it’s not in the milk. It’s in the genes and environment. Both, provided by parents.

my career type

Would i be blogging now if i had been an architect?

2 and counting

I have gained 2 pounds. and the holiday season is not over yet. aaarrgggg!!!

Speaking of counting, on Christmas eve, we had our pictures taken beside the Christmas tree. It’s a common practice to count before taking the shot right?

Person taking the picture: one…

BG: tu…tee!

Of course, I was beaming with pride. ;)

first step

They’ve found a child for me to sponsor (education). My special requests were:

  • preferably a boy
  • born on the 24th of May

He’s so much younger than most students. he’s only in first grade, I think. While others are in fifth grade. I don’t mind.

Well, of course, I hope he does well in school, and that he later helps his family, and his neighborhood. I hope he’ll put his education in good use. I hope that I’ll be changing his life, and the lives around him. I hope to have that domino effect.

Pagbutihin mo, bata!

Nick Jr.

Early this week, news broke that Britney Spear’s little sister, Jamie Lynn is pregnant. I was shocked ‘coz I saw her on a Nickelodeon show. So I thought of her as a kid ‘coz she is still on a kiddie show. She is sixteen.

But who am I to judge?

When I was in high school, I’ve read somewhere that Mary gave birth to Jesus at the age of fourteen. It’s the same book that says manna was not bread but a fruit that tastes like bread. My father argued that if it’s not written on the bible, it’s just a theory. ok, ok, I know I shouldn’t believe everything that I read. but still…

who are we to judge?

5th morning

…of the misa de gallo.

At 4am, BG woke up on her own. She was perky the entire mass and sang along with the priest. (The part where the priest sings “Let us pray…”)

:)

christmas is in the air

my YM status today is “mind on vacation mode”.

a few days advanced i know, and i can’t afford it ‘coz migration starts tomorrow. ugh!

still a bit sleepy for waking up 4am for the misa de gallo now on its 2nd morning. BG goes with me although she slept the entire mass today. i got no one to leave her to, ‘coz the yaya and the maid goes with us. and i don’t want to be the reason for them to miss the mass. and i have no plans of missing them myself.

i dragged myself to get out of the house just to go to work. it looks like i was not the only one. my boss got in the same time i did. (he usually comes early)

and like what my YM suggests, my mind is now wandering. the main reason i have no clue on how to end this entry…hmm, bye!

busy busy

Few hours from now, our team will be going to Tagaytay for our team planning.

  • I have bought my gift for our exchange gifts. Check!
  • I have packed my bags. Check!
  • I have a big plastic full of chips. Check!

We’ll be staying there overnight. Aaaw, I’m gonna miss my two teddy bears (read: hubby and BG)

This Saturday, our family will be attending a baptismal party aka lunch, and will attend another Christmas party for dinner.

For Sunday, my partner-in-migration and I will have our ‘unofficial’ meeting over the phone to discuss the project further.

I’ll get back to you on Monday…Wishing everyone a great weekend!
