aiming for a baby boy

first, i’m blogging about this so i would have an online reference. ;)

second, i would be a hyprocrite if i’d say i don’t want another baby. i want another one. but not soon. next year would be better.

Note: I know very well that I’m not getting any younger. And it seems that my generation is having more difficulty getting pregnant than trying not to be.

but if i’ll get pregnant this year, i’d aim for a baby boy. so i googled, and these i found:

Preconception Gender Diet

The boy diet / girl diet theory holds that altering your body’s pH through diet may influence the polarity of the egg (if it has one), or make the vaginal environment more or less hospitable to sperm.

Diet high in potassium and sodium for a boy.
Diet high in calcium and magnesium for a girl.

I realized I should maintain this diet, just in case i get lucky this year. ;)

Not only that. I found a chinese calendar for this. After some computation (yes, lunar months were a bit confusing) , hubby and I need to do some boxing in the arena on these dates:

from: jan 14, 2008 <—i only computed from today
to: feb 5, 2008

from: mar 7, 2008
to: jun 2, 2008

from: aug 30, 2008
to: sep 28, 2008

from: dec 27, 2008
to: dec 31, 2008 <—2009 chinese calendar is not yet available

whoa! lots of fireworks for us this year. 2008 is indeed a year to look forward to.

now, how not to get pregnant on the other dates…

hmmm, on second thought, more like, how to get pregnant again…tsk. tsk.

gifts from A-Lo (Auntie-Lola)

Can’t wait for Mikee to wear these…

(she hasn’t tried them on, we have to wash them first of course)

(may dora sunglasses pa hihihi)

(the kikay-est of belts)

Mommy can’t wait to take some pictures (of her wearing them) and do some scrapping.

As always, my problem is, what shoes to wear?  ;)

the cursed elevator

18th floor…going down, going home…ting! i got in, no one there but me…i was admiring my necklace in the mirror when suddenly…BOG!!! sounded like a box dropped off on top of the elevator cubicle i was in.

i tried not to panic…i looked at the display LCD, 18.

ok, the elevator was not moving…that was not good.

“Oh my Gooooooood!!!” <—– yes, panic mode!

i pressed all familiar buttons at first, open, close, 18, ground…then pressed anything when…i noticed there’s this button…talk to security…pressed it…

heard a speaker being turned on…

“Waaaahhhh!!!” <—- exaggerating so the person on the other end would know the button was not pressed accidentally or for fun…that this one was for real!

“Yes ma’am, what floor po kayo?”

“18th…” <— in my help-me-please tone

Alas, the elevator went up. tsk! tsk!

——–

Let me share with you a story about this elevator. An employee was going home. He got in. He was alone. To his dismay, it stopped on every floor…worse, there was no one there everytime. Then on the 2nd floor, (one floor away from ground), it stopped again, and no one there, again.

But this time, on the display LCD, something lit up: elevator overload!!!

Boo!

oh bummer

i asked my officemate how her birthday treat went yesterday. she said it was ok, and there’s still ice cream in the fridge. so i went to the pantry, and checked. there are two flavors available, but i opted for the butterscotch. i used a big paper cup (intended for coffee). it was yummy.

i was halfway it when i realized, oh my, oh my! i forgot i was (trying to go) on a diet!

tsk! tsk!

well good thing losing weight is not one of my new year’s resolutions. ;)

Note: as i was blogging this, another officemate who just came home from an out-of-country vacation, handed me a chocolate bar. ugh!

{18 months}

Ooh. I forgot to blog about Mikee turning 18 months 2 days ago.

I was preoccupied with work for the last couple of days. I still am. Aaargh! Making up for the two-week-long Christmas Vacation.

Anyway, I’ve shared that she can now count wan, tu, tee. ;)

She now have these expressions, “Ay shko!” and “Ay ko!” for “Hay Josko!” and “Hay naku!”. These she hears from her yaya and the maid (who I think she prefers more than the yaya)

Why can’t she just learn from me? Like when she says “ulk” for milk.

Oh! Oh! She says “Eykyu!” for “Thank you”, and “Uweee” for “Sorry”.

I actually observe how we talk when we’re together. Yes, it’s starting to worry me. I found out that there are a lot of quiet moments. Maybe ‘coz I love watching her. (I even video’d her eating cookies. Aliw eh.)

So one of my new year’s resolutions (there are two) is to talk to her more often. This year, I’ll focus on her communication development. I’ll still take pictures and video but limit them on outings and parties. Or maybe, take some on 4th day of the month.

Anyway, sharing her picture.

Game by Childstar

ok, after 99 years of waiting for the videos to be uploaded over youtube, it’s finally done.

aired just this morning, as i have blogged, at Umagang Kayganda. my brother and i kept texting while they were waiting in between songs.

our cable has a bad reception of channel 2 and i just used my digicam to record, (plus i realized just this morning that i’m bad at taking videos) so just make do with these.

since GAME is my favorite song from CHILDSTAR (bec of the harmonica hehehe), i’ve chosen to upload it first. ;)

the second video (i had to cut it sorry) was the interview where my brother, the one wearing an orange shirt holding a white/black electric guitar, and Marian were asked by Rica Peralejo if each really was a frustrated childstar, haha. I honestly think Rica should have asked the drummer and bassist as well.

This video starts midway their performance. I was not ready to record ‘coz I didn’t notice my brother’s text message. (My phone was in silent mode while recording) Anyway, this is another tagalog song from them, Ako Sa ‘Yo.

btw, they look thinner in person.
