thriftier by the minute
My friend Cheryl now works and lives in Singapore. We met up last Christmas and reminisced about the years that we’ve worked together with our previous employer. Although she minded her expenses (getting bonds, mutual funds and life insurance quotes), we used to dine out at the Mega strip frequently checking each restaurant, doing our “rounds”.
We laughed realizing how little our salaries were with our previous employer but still managed to spend so much on food and coffee. But now that we could actually afford it, we simply won’t.
