getting real

There’s this guy in our office who, while working, sings ala Mariah Carey, with the piping and all. But still, he insists that he’s not gay. He dresses too well. Yet, he claims he has a long-time girlfriend (who has never met anyone in the office). I don’t know, but I’m not buying it.

Why do people pretend to be someone they are not? Are they not happy with what they are?

I’m telling you, every single person has something in him/her that another person would find disgusting or simply unappealing in one way or another.

So just get real. ;)

get-to-know-me-more badge

I noticed how bloggers have become creative with tags lately. Thanks to Ris for tagging me with this one. I enjoyed it so much I had to take the MI test too.

Though I can’t seem to find a badge that would further describe my results, I love the badge below.

I’m guessing I got the overseer/protector personality from being the eldest among the brood of four. I think people who know me personally or have been reading this blog know that I am a logical/visual person (no conceit intended).

Want to see your results too: Aggie, Joy, Alpha, Yen and Diane. :)

Earth Hour - you too can take action

Have you heard, read or received an email about the earth hour?

The (multi-national) company where I work will be participating. I plan to discuss this with hubby tonight so we can decide if it’s possible for our household to participate too. Maybe we could schedule an activity for the family which will require no (or at least minimum. no aircon, tv or laptops) electricity.

At 8pm on March 29, 2008, cities across the world will turn off their lights for just one hour – Earth Hour™ – to show that it’s possible to take action on global warming.

By far, Philippines has ranked 9th for the number of signatories. You too can take action. ;)

scrap the boredom away

While I was chatting with my sister-in-law, an idea crossed my mind. (It’s pretty obvious how *busy* we both are with our work huh? ) We were chatting how to effectively go on a strict diet.

I have this nasty habit of munching when I am bored. Yes, munching chips, cookies or fries. Munching the boredom away. Hahaha.

So I thought, why not just scrap when bored? Not a bad idea…yiheeee!  ;)

10 pounds to go

I gained several pounds after getting married. I can’t blame pregnancy alone. I gained extra 5 pounds long before I got pregnant with Mikee. I must admit I was (and still am, I guess) hesitant to shop for clothes just because I don’t want to admit I am now on another size bracket. I insist on wearing my old jeans, and sometimes actually get away with it. (Although for formal dresses and gowns, I use corsets.) I have shied away from stores I used to frequent when I was still single.

But this weekend, probably due to fasting, I am now just 10 pounds away from my ideal weight. Ain’t that something?

Our Easter Sunday

We’re back! Just in time for Easter.

Mikee and I had a great bonding time this weekend (not so much for hubby. He had to work Thursday and Friday). We, most of the time, did nothing. But that’s the beauty of a vacation, right? I was able to relax (although I must admit I checked my personal mails and blogs a couple of times).

And this morning, after hearing mass, we went to the mall. We ate our lunch and shopped for some baby clothes too. (Hey, Mikee is still a baby! Well, at least for me. ;) )We went to a gaming area where Mikee and I rode a (micro)mini-ferris wheel while daddy shoot some hoops, answered trivias and fire some (of course, toy) guns. Don’t worry, by this time, Mikee was fast asleep, she didn’t see the gory scene on screen.

Gosh, I’m going back to work again tomorrow. Back to reality. Tsk. Tsk.

Happy Easter!!!

my mom got the sickies

My mom is in the hospital. She was rushed for persistent vomiting and headache. Hubby and I went to visit her. I accompanied her to some of her tests. While biding time, we chatted about women stuff (I am tempted to type “girly stuff”… teehee) like skin whitening, herbal tea and diet pills. (My mom is much more of a vain than I am.) She had an MRI and reproductive system work-up. (I was freaking the whole time that four doctors were examining her. It’s awkward enough to be examined by one, you know.) But until now, nothing can be found yet. I guess my mom, like me, just wanted a break. ;)
