no need for CT scan
Last Saturday, we went to a neuro-pedia to have Mikee checked. But like the ER doctors said, she told us that there’s no need to subject Mikee to a CT scan. You see, while we were discussing the case with the doctor, Mikee was running all over the place. She got the juice bottle of the doctor from under her table. She even used the stethoscope on the doctor’s belly. She was very curious. Who would think this girl fell off the stairs? Hehehe.
The doctor warned us though that her restlessness hasn’t reached its maximum level. Expect more when she turns into the terrible two.
Just yesterday, she was crying for a reason we can’t figure out. So off we rushed to the ER again. This time, the doctors told us that it is natural for Mikee to feel dizzy for the first two weeks (Is this true? I’m still worried) so we were sent home.
Honestly, I don’t want Mikee to have a CT scan too. I don’t like the idea of her having anesthesia at a very young age. But of course, if I see that Mikee displays alarming signs, I wouldn’t think twice.
After our visit to the doctor, we went to the nearest mall and as usual, Mikee was very excited. We window-shopped and canvassed for good home gyms. We bought more floor mats and looked for a good stair gate. Unfortunately, no stair gate available in the malls that “matches” our stairs. (It looked to me these gates are ideal for stairs that have wall on both sides. Ours have steel railings)
For now, Mikee stays downstairs while mommy is working.

sis, glad to know na ok na talaga si Mikee at di na sya i CT scan…ganyan ata talaga mg bata eh…si Bela din super likot kaya madali din may bukol at pasa…kaya minsan na pra-praning na din ako…kaya ok lang din talaga na mag consult sa doctor, wala namang mawawala diba…at leaset ma assure tayo na walang problema sa baby natin…

hi sis! just read ur post. Yan tlga ang pinakanakakatakot na incident na pweding manyari sa mga toddlers natin. Like c AJ din sobrang likot and nahulog nrin sya before pero hindi sa stairs sa bed cya nahulog. And thank God, ok naman cya, no signs or whatsoever. And I’m sure Mikee is ok, pero sabi nga ni Abie wala naman mawawala if mgpaconsult ka…

hi! I can relate to your post. Nahulog din dati baby ko sa bed. And worried na worried din ako noon. Pero sabi din ng doctor na ok lang daw na hindi na i-CT Scan. Pero observe lang daw for 5 days. Pag natutulog sha medyo gisingin daw ng konti and tingnan kung mahirap magising and parang hilo pa din. I’m glad na ok naman baby mo.

question lang, hinawakan mo ba ung ulo ngayon ni mikee? bilog pa rin ba siya or may bukol ka pang nakakapa?

di perfect na bilog ang ulo ni mikee eh hahaha. edgy yung both sides. natural nila yun, lahi…anyway, yung bukol nya wala na nakakapa. my sister in law fell too when she was younger. it was seen in her xray that her skull was cracked. pero sabi ng doctor, hayaan lang at maghihilom on its own kasi bata pa (she was 2 yrs old then) ok nmn sya now, magcocollege na.
