monday blues

Today, I’ve gone working back in the office. Mikee was crying when I left. I had to be strong. She’s no longer a baby, I said to myself. She had to face the reality that both of her parents are working. (Alright, I left with a heavy heart.)

It felt kind of weird to go out of the house in the middle of the day. And my feet have been wearing flipflops for a long time now, I think these two have forgotten how to walk in shoes.

When I entered the office, I saw a lot of new faces. I started feeling like the new hire. I felt shy while getting my chocolate drink from the pantry. Although the colorful sofa and sconce are all familiar, I don’t know anybody in there. I even thought they were from another floor.

But of course, the connection is way too faster. ;) Plus, some officemates told me I am thinner now. (I didn’t expect this ‘coz even if I lost pounds after the operation, I’ve gained them back lately.)

Geez. I’m not as happy as I seem to be. But I guess, you’ll just have to appreciate the things that come your way. At least I got a job.

perfect timing

After 3 months of working from home, I am expected at the office starting this Monday.

And tonight, the yaya left. Talk about perfect timing. She said it was an emergency but when hubby asked her what the emergency was, she can’t come up with an answer. I let her go ‘coz I was afraid that she might leave anyway when hubby and I go to our office.

Her older brother came to fetch her. I inspected her things. I was a bit shocked that her things were all packed up. She was ready! I told her to leave the yaya uniform but gave her the yaya rubber shoes.

I just told her I am letting her go because she said that it’s an emergency but if she has just got another job, she should be afraid of bad karma, ‘coz what she did was bad, leaving us hanging, without any warning.

Another challenge for our family come Monday.

my fave tv shows

I’ve always said that I’d rather surf the internet than watch tv. Still, there are shows that I enjoy watching. Here are my list, some of which are no longer aired. :)

Friends – yes, I can watch the reruns but still laugh every time. I especially love the character of Phoebe. She is so naïve. And also the character of Joey, a child-like guy who is so much into women.

Heroes – I love that the heroes here are not perfect. Just like humans. They have their faults even if they have a super power. I would love to have the power of Hiro Nakamura to stop the time. Then I can go take pictures and scrap!!! Yeah, told you, I am pleased easily.

CSI – all three: Vegas, Miami and NY. Never fail to intrigue me. You always wanted to know how the people died, and who killed them.

Vegas – a show about the ins and outs of vegas hotels and casinos. I guess I’m fascinated with the lifestyles of people in Vegas, especially the ones working in these hotels and casinos.

Hope and Faith – a comedy about sisters. What can I say, I like comedy.

My wife and kids – yup, still comedy.

Desperate Housewives – very funny women. I can relate sometimes.

Grey’s Anatomy – would you believe that my heart aches when Meredith was hurting? I am deeply moved by the scenes, with the music and all. I once told my husband “My chest hurts” while we were watching. I could feel while watching the show, how lonely it is to be alone.

Tru – have you watched this? It’s a girl who, after the dead asked for her help, would wake up to relive the same day. Yeah, I got hooked on this one too.

Shows that I didn’t like even if everyone did: 24, Lost, Prison Break

what’s up?

the sky? kidding…

  • Mikee seemed to lose weight, looking thinner. But I think it’s because she’s getting taller.
  • She’s a bit clingy lately. She acts like I’ll be going away.
  • Maybe, ‘coz I’ll start working in the office next Monday ( but still working from home on Thursdays and Fridays)
  • I scrapped last night
  • Oh, remember that tv ad we were trying to figure out? I think it’s Great Taste coffee. I just saw this tv ad, coffee packs dancing at the stage enjoying the limelight. But yes, it was indeed, a Great Taste ad.

a simple healing prayer

Thanks Aggie for sharing this prayer with me.

Dear God, we pray for the quick recovery of all the sick and the dying especially those suffering from LUPUS and CANCER. And to those 700 plus lives who have lost during the Princess of the Star Voyage tragedy during the typhoon last week. I pray that their bodies will be found and if not they will rest in peace. My heart aches for them..Amen.

To those who will be all you have to do is keep this circulating. Even if it’s to only one person. In memory of anyone you know that has been struck down by a serious illness like Lupus or Cancer or is still living with it.

A Candle Loses Nothing by Lighting Another Candle.

There will be a cure soon. Continue to have Hope and continue to pray.

bright sunshiny day

Yes this is how I would describe the weather today, complete contrast to that one yesterday.

But what exactly this post is about, is not the weather. This is about a last song heard by one of our pizza night buddies on their way to our place last night and asked us what TV ad it was. She apparently can’t remember. I said it has something to do with a drink probably coffee. (Yeah, I can’t remember too) But hubby insisted it is a Nesvita TV ad.

Although this also reminds me of the movie “The Breakup”. At the ending, you’ll hear “I can see clearly now…”

I couldn’t get over it so I googled, but there seems nothing that points to an ad. So here I am, watching local channel just to catch it. Nyahaha.

“It’s gonna be a bright, bright, sunshiny day!”

who knows

I have always been amused with winter fashion for little girls. It’s like seeing your Barbie doll clothes on your little girl. I always check and search for these clothes online for the latest collections. I’d end up browsing online stores (and Cheap Hotels) in Sydney and France.

Maybe someday I could put up my own boutique. I would travel to France and check in Hotels Paris to attend fashion shows, or to Australia and check in Hotels Sydney to meet up with young designers. Since I would be just starting, it would be important for me to scrimp on some stuff and find Cheap Hotels.

Well, who knows? This could become a reality.

just chillin’ at the office

IT people, they say, have very stressful lifestyles. I think multinational IT companies agree. In our company, so many activities are launched to achieve the so-called work-life balance. And on our client’s building, there’s a massage room, Nintendo Wii and even foosball at the pantry area.

But the coolest I’ve seen so far is the Google office. C’mon join me in drooling. :)

This is the receiving/waiting area:

This is one of the work areas:

And if you want to work alone:

But if you want to rest from too much stress:

Happy weekend everyone!
