on saving mode

We went to the nearest KFC and inquired about their party packages. I think whoever thought of getting the rights of Barney as their party theme for KFC is a genius. I wouldn’t really consider KFC as a party venue but because (Barney is one of Mikee’s favorite characters and) KFC is offering Barney as one of their party themes, we took time to check their packages.

But anyway, I’ve come to my senses and realized that we could save 3 quarters of what we’ll be spending on KFC if we’ll hold the party at home. Yes, hubby had been telling me this but stubborn that I am, I insisted on checking the party packages. But my objective for this year is to save, save and save. Always thinking of the best saving strategy like 0 balance transfer rather than accumulating interests with annual fees.

So there. We’ll just hold the party at home. We’ll just buy piñatas (or pabitins as Alpha had suggested) and some loot bags for the kids (which won’t be as many as 30, the minimum number for a party package).

Geez, I feel good about this.

It was Saturday

It was a Saturday but both hubby and I are doing some overtime work at home. I was trying to convince him to leave work and stroll around the mall but workaholic that my husband is, he said we have all day tomorrow to do that. But then, after lunch, electricity went out. So consequently, the internet was out. Except his. He is using wireless connection (Globe) which was very slow (no exaggeration here) so he agreed on going to the nearest mall.

Mikee saw a small Barney stuff toy which she didn’t want to let go. I explained to her that Barney is waiting for her at home so no need to bring this little one along. I showed her Baby Bop and BJ (at least she doesn’t have these ones yet) but she wasn’t interested. So mommy carried Mikee and ran away from the stall as fast as she could. Harharhar.

I checked the pairs of shoes (yes pairs, I’m eyeing two) and glad to see they’re still being sold there. I plan to buy them next month. But first, I need to find a bag that would match the two pairs. Yes, the idea is to mix and match. ;)

Hubby was able to buy another remote control. (btw, we found the last one but Mikee threw it, again. oh well. told you I should consider adding remote control expenses on the monthly budget.)

Hubby was looking for a padded EHD case. He wanted to protect his EHD in case it falls. I said he doesn’t need a padded case. What he needs is a floor filled with cushions/pillows. =P

While waiting for the electricity, we enjoyed checking the racks for clothes, shoes, toys, DVDs, playstation 3 games and cell phones. Mind you, this mall is very small so we were able to check a lot of things without getting too tired from strolling.

Whew. I had fun!
