time bomb

I’m on the verge of quitting my job. I keep forgetting the things that I previously committed to. I’m quite sure this is one major sign that my mind is giving up the career soon.

I love my career. In fact, I’m proud to be part of the company. But I could no longer handle the stress and the unhappiness it gives me. All the work that no one appreciates except my husband. It isn’t worthy anymore, of my time and of my effort. Time and effort it strips off my supposedly bonding time with my daughter and my ME time.

I don’t know how much longer I could hold on.

good morning!

BG and I have a different routine that started just few days ago. It used to be that I’ll wake up then wake BG up. But lately, I’d wake up being nudged by the little girl. And what’s nice about this is upon opening my eyes, I’d see her smiling at me waiting for me to greet her good morning. Looks like my daughter has found a better way to start our morrning.

Don’t you just love motherhood? :)

dinner at my parents’ house

After BG’s class, we went to my parents’ house. The family of my sister’s fiancée came to ask from my parents the hand of my sister. Yes, it is the announcement party (in tagalog, pamamanhikan). The dining area was crowded so my brothers and I, with hubby and BG trooped to the TV/Computer area. It was bonding time for my brothers and hubby. They talked about computers, CAT6 and other hardware.

Well, I didn’t listen much. It bored me. Hehe. Besides, BG and I were busy eating the delicious lasagna that my mom baked. It’s one of her specialties. Hmm, I better have a copy of her recipe. Hopefully, I could bake someday too. Maybe when BG will have her on announcement party, say, 25 years from now? :P

BG’s first day with her playgroup

Today was BG’s first day to attend her play group. We arrived there early with socks on and no piece of body jewelry. The idea is to familiarize her with the place before the “lesson” starts. Then one by one, her playmates arrived. She easily became friends with the other kids. She had no trouble with sharing. She willingly let go of the toy once a playmate gets it from her. Passive?

The trouble started during the welcome song. All the kids were sitting obediently with their mommies. Then BG stood in the center of the circle and started jumping and dancing to the music. This had motivated the other kids to join her. So all 5 kids were jumping. Woohoo! So I’d say my daughter is quite influential. Hahaha.

I was able to take just one picture because I was busy convincing BG to sit down and sing with the teacher.

Would you believe that today had been educational for me as well? I learned that there are a lot of simple words inside the house that I can (and should?) teach BG. Nouns and verbs. This has been a problem to me. I just teach what is on BG’s poster and books. I never had a guide. Now my mission this week is to “review” her with her “lessons” today. ;)

keep on smiling

Do you watch the evening news? I don’t usually. ‘Coz I’m no fan of bad news. Although I can’t help it sometimes when hubby is watching, and I’m beside him.

Just this evening, there was a fire that burned houses and left many people homeless. Guess what? While the newscaster was reporting live. The people on the background were smiling, waving and jumping just to be seen on TV.

This is one trait I love about Filipinos. They can smile even at times of trials. :)

going lomo

OMG! I am so excited! I’ve signed up for a free lesson on lomography in our company. It is just one of the Advanced Photography Series. (I missed the other lessons although I was not interested on them anyway. One previous lesson was how to cash in on photography.)

The speakers will be from the Lomo Manila. No, I don’t have any lomo equipment. I’m just a mere fan of these pictures. But they said attendees are not required to have any lomo knowledge or equipment. Goodie!

There. I’ve blogged it. Lessens the excitement a bit.

I wonder if there’s Holga at Henry’s. ;)

the yaya who never liked kids

Let me just blog about this very quickly.

The yaya who left is now working as a store saleslady (or in tagalog, tindera). This I was told by the help. She and the yaya are neighbors in the province. And the yaya’s mother told the help’s mother who told the help. She is earning as much as she was earning as a yaya. This only means it wasn’t about the money. She just didn’t want to work as a yaya anymore.

As of now, the help takes care of BG when we are away or busy working. Actually, it’s the help who likes children. The yaya don’t. The help would take a bath and be very fresh before getting BG from me. So fresh you’d think she’ll go out on a date. :)

Note to MBAPs: it was the help who was with us on our Mcdo party.

So unlike the ex-yaya who picked her nose while taking care of BG. I tell her to wash her hands whenever I caught her. I’m telling you, this happened many times. But I liked her ‘coz she was hardworking. It’s just that she didn’t like kids.

Oh well, like I told her, “what comes around, goes around.”

one practical woman

I took half day off yesterday. Just to take a rest. I wasn’t feeling well lately. Anyway, I’m going to the office today to attend a meeting. I’m so excited to use my new laptop bag:

Remember the ones that I first fell in love with? My sister’s fiancee was willing to received it for me while he was in the US. But I didn’t buy ‘coz I know I’d feel guilty about it.

Good thing ‘coz my new laptop bag is way more affordable! Now that’s practicality. :)
