hit and run
It was an almost perfect weekend for me. On our way home from doing the groceries, I was happily daydreaming about some equestrian clothing. Then our car got hit. It was a loud thud plus it felt like I was pushed forward.
Hubby got out of the car. I saw the man from an owner-type jeep angrily talking to my husband. I got out too to check the damage. Then I thought of taking a picture. Dang! I didn’t bring our digicam. So I thought of using my mobile. Unfortunately, I’m not familiar with the camera/video features of it. (Geez, I’ve owned this for almost 2 years now. Tsk, tsk.) By the time I figured it out, the man sped off.
Anyway, I was able to take note of his plate number (VBC359). (And yes, plate number in front and at the back are the same.) According to hubby, the man’s excuse was he lost his brakes. Was that why he was angry? Or was he simply trying to intimidate my husband? Sorry, my guy has been driving for 16 years now. He knows when he’s right. You can’t intimidate him by senseless barking.
And why did he speed off? No money huh? He can simply talk to my husband and perhaps beg for forgiveness. Na-ah, the man’s got too much pride to do such. And so he sped off.
Less than one kilometer away was a mobile police car. The vehicle is now on blotter. And I bet the insurance company will hunt this guy down.
Yeah, sometimes, –it happens.
