little miss vain
I caught BG playing with my vanity kit. I thought I’d put lipstick on her just for fun. The Little Miss couldn’t take her eyes off herself. Look:
Vain huh? I wonder where she got that trait?

This isn’t about some bling-bling.
This is about an email I got yesterday. An email from an IT company based in Singapore for an initial interview. They are looking for a firmware engineer and as they’ve indicated in the email, I fit the bill.
I am hesitant because, the last time I held a microcontroller or any IC for that matter was October 2006. I must have forgotten how to develop firmware. Honestly, I kind of miss those zeroes and ones. But, this type of job is no longer part of the grand master plan. Besides, I sort of prefer my current job now over my previous simply because there are more opportunities.
I showed the company name and address to Apols. And according to her, it is likely that the job isn’t toxic. Well, that’s one good point that I’d consider.
I haven’t discussed this with hubby yet. As he is busy tinkering with something now.

BG’s favorite book now is “Cookies” that she got from her class. We read it five to ten times a day. I offered to read her other textbooks but she declined. I give her the freedom of choice so “Cookies” it is.
One time, we turned off the lights after reading the book for three times, plus, it’s her bedtime already. In the dark, she opened the book and exclaimed, “Ookie!”
Who would argue with that?
Don’t you sometimes feel that you have too much information and pictures in the internet? With all the social networking (Friendster, Facebook and Multiply) and macroblogging (Twitter and Plurk), it seems that everybody is so confident that it is a safe place out there.
I remember once, someone I know posted a picture of her in Boracay on her Friendster profile. She wasn’t wearing a skimpy swimsuit mind you. In fact, all you can see is her fact and shoulders. She was wearing a cap too. She is not the sultry, voluptuous type. Although not the type who needs any diet pill either. The next thing, this same picture were plastered in some filthy forum, with nasty comments. Yes, the picture isn’t filthy, but the comment was.
But the forum was taken down now. It’s just a reminder that no, it isn’t safe out there.
I worked from home today. Not much issues either. So the mother and the daughter watched videos over at YouTube. Funny but BG had fun watching the classic Sesame Street clips. (I said funny because she dislikes Sesame Street when we watch it with our DVD player. In fact, she used to be afraid of Snuffalafagus.)
I think I was the one who had more fun. Brought back happy memories. Love that one clip where Ernie and Bert visited a pyramid. Then one statue who looked like Ernie started talking and dancing. (I bet you remember that one too.) I remember laughing watching this when I was a kid.
Btw, are there any Batibot DVD or VCD collections? I’d like to have those. I remember one time at McDonald’s, I saw Kuya Bodjie. The other kids did not recognized him but those who are 30 and above kept glancing back. Come to think of it, he used to be a crucial part of our 10am weekday routine.
“Pag mulat ng mata, langit nakatawa sa Batibot, sa Batibot…”
Hubby is now ITIL certified. (I’m hoping to take the same exam this year.) All the crankiness and autism (he wanted to review alone, and BG and I were forbidden to raise our voices) over the last weekend have paid off. Hihihi.
We are now another step closer to our goal. Yes, it’s all part of the grand masterplan. (Insert evil laugh here)
I must admit I had been too lazy to blog lately. Either I was busy twittering (and now plurking) or simply taking care of our darling daughter.
BG has been learning lately. I must have taught her in a faster pace that she could handle though. She has confused the telephone with elephant. Whenever I say “elephant” she would say “Riiiiiing! Hello?” Of course she does the same thing when I say “telephone”. Geez, it must be the way I say it. Tsk, tsk.
But now she knows how to differentiate the bear from the pig. (Admit it, most drawings of bears and pigs do look alike.)
She now knows where her body parts are and sounds that animals make. She knows the color yellow and the letter A. And when asked, “How old are you?”, she’ll answer “two” while raising two fingers.
Oh, and she calls old men and Papa Jesus “Yoyo!” for Lolo (or in English, Grandpa).
Here’s a pic I took last August 24 (camera not ours though):
BG got the sickies since last night. We’ll visit the Pedia, and I’ve filed for a leave at work today too. Some may ask why, when I work from home on Fridays. Like what I told my manager, my daughter needs my undivided attention.
I’ll get back to you next week.
Things I plan to do online this week:
Aha! It’s September 1st! BER months are here! 115 days before Christmas! We better start shopping for gifts soon. I have a feeling this is going to be a very merry Christmas. Hihihi.
Advanced Merry Christmas everyone!
