parties and carbs

Ok, BG and I are all set for the parties. Oh, just one more thing. Hubby is still in the beeeeeed!!! I’m trying to lure him out of it. I told him the guys are playing poker, and there will be a lot of food (and probably beer too).

Speaking of food, I have been trying to go on a low-carb diet since September. But I’m thinking we meet these ladies and their families once a year. So I guess it’s ok to forget about the diet for a while. I’ll just start again on Monday. I’m thinking of taking Fentraphen or L-Carnitine starting next week. Not decided yet though. All I know is that I should be fit this December in time for my sister’s wedding. With all the parties going on, it looks like I’m going to have a hard time.

clock at the station

My mom is redecorating her living room. Guess what? She bought this gigantic clock screwed in a post. I teased her that I stood beside it and waved my hand looking like I’m hailing for a cab. It looks like one of those clocks in the train station of Harry Potter movies. But honestly, it was a good find, it’s just that I don’t think it matches her indoor lighting and furniture. She said she loves it so much that she wants to buy another one. Ugh!

Note: I’ll post a picture of it once I get one. It really looks nice. :)

masquerade ball

I was reading my emails when I noticed that we will have a company-wide “Twilight”-themed masquerade ball. Cool huh? I don’t know what’s up with this company that we seemed to have so many activities these days. One, each department will hold a family day before the fiscal year ends. There’s also beer bash next Friday. And this one, a masquerade ball.

Geez, I wonder if it was just me who is alarmed that the company stocks are down. I should have sold some a month ago. Argh!

Oh well, life isn’t all about making money. I guess I’ll just enjoy what I have and what I get. Now, I better start thinking what to wear. :P

time-bound

I went to the mall to do some last-minute shopping for the weekend parties. I don’t know if it’s just me but I have this feeling that the moms preferred books over plush toys. Since I can not find any non-plush toys that match the descriptions on their wish lists, I opted to look around bookstores. I saw a hardbound Breaking Dawn but skipped to check its price. And I finally found a good book of casserole recipes. I also bought BG a nice Barney coloring/sticker book.

I was too engrossed browsing the books, I didn’t notice the time. It took me 3 hours just to buy 4 items. Tsk, tsk.
