disciplining BG

BG has started choosing her own clothes both when we are going out and when we are just staying at home. I don’t mind. As long as she doesn’t choose a swimsuit which she did once when we are about to go to a party. Good thing she calmed down when she saw me packing it inside her diaper bag.

But today, it was different. She doesn’t want to wear anything but her diaper! I thought she just didn’t like the clothes that I prepared. No, she simply didn’t want anything.

Then it happened. It was my first time to hit her with my slippers, on the butt. Since she was wearing a diaper, I know it won’t hurt her much. But she got my point, I was angry. She agreed on wearing clothes. Still, she didn’t quite get the role of the “slippers” in the situation. She slipped her foot in the slipper saying “pheepers…”

You must be wondering why I didn’t use a time-out instead. That’s because she was sitting on her time-out chair when she was refusing her clothes. I just thought it would have no or little impact. Geez, parenthood can be so challenging.
