hubby’s back! :)

I am so happy that the husband is back. Along with that, the appetite is so back that I had 4 meals today. And I was able to sleep soundly last night, and had a nap this afternoon. I bet I’ll gain back the 2 pounds I lost while he was away. Oh well.

It felt good to talk to him in person again. It was kind of weird to chat with him about work, BG, and other million mundane things such as identity theft protection over YM and webcam. At least now, I can sleep at night with the TV turned off, with him sleeping beside me.

effort comes to naught?

I was looking at this new york discount hotel over the internet, and I can’t help but admire New York city. Why? I noticed that most of those who want to make it big in the US, wanted to make it big in New York! Yes, this is where it all happens! So tourism isn’t such a problem, and needs little effort. How I wish the Philippines could attract so many tourists as well.

Just recently, I was admiring the efforts of the Philippine Department of Tourism (PDOT) in promoting the country with a mini music video by APL of the Black Eyed Peas, Take Me To The Philippines. I even saw over at MTV, Secretary Durano ‘interviewing’ APL. I thought it is a good idea to attract tourism in the country.

But with the recent Maguindanao massacre, I felt the efforts were now put into waste. :(

Black Friday shopping

I know a lot are busy shopping today with a lot of stores offering Black Friday doorbusters. I myself shopped a little. Nothing special, just a toy for our little girl and 2 pieces of SDHC cards for our DSLR. You might be wondering why 2 pieces, it’s because only 4 gigs were on sale. :P

I tried looking for cheap Custom usb drive, EHD and other things that I could use to make storing data easier. Also, for nice pair of shoes for the little girl. But till now, I can’t find anything that is cheaper than what is available locally. :D

I’m still waiting for new “doorbusters” items for tomorrow at our favorite online store. I hope the wait is all worth it. :D

1 week to go

Wow amazing, two weeks had passed since the husband left for Poland. A week more to go, and we’ll see him again (in person I mean, we chat with webcam anyway hehehe). I just hope and pray that there’s no need to extend his business trip as I badly need my appetite and sleep back. ;)

~

Cebu Pacific had two piso seat sales for the last 30 days (one in October 30th and another one that just started last Friday). But so far, we haven’t been able to grab any. Oh believe me, I had plenty of chances. I just wanted to make sure everybody was good to go. Well, I guess it wasn’t meant to be. :)

And the March trip looks a little bleak now. The husband will still be busy with work by then. He gave a go signal for November though.

I actually got excited by these seat sales but the adrenaline rush died down easily as the seats on sale started to “disappear” on the very first night I learned about it. *I learned about it last Friday but the press release was the promo would start on Saturday. And yet, I wasn’t able to book any.

Tsk tsk.

feeling romantic in January

December is nearing, and yet, I don’t still feel the spirit of Christmas. In fact, it felt like Christmas is over. Maybe because we had a lot of relatives who came home from abroad last October. Consequently, we received a lot of early Christmas treats. It felt to me like how it used to feel in January. Hmm, not bad because next month, when the husband arrives, it would definitely feel like February, the month of hearts. Haha.

A second honeymoon, perhaps at the Karisma Hotels, will be perfect! A Honeymoon Getaway at the most romantic resorts in Mexico. I’m blushing just thinking about it. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate our fifth anniversary this coming January!

a little debate

My husband and I enjoy dining out…. and in. We love to eat! Although he swears he’ll start going back to gym once he comes back from his business trip. I teased him if wants me to pack some weight loss supplements for him. He told me, in his as-a-matter-of-fact tone of voice, that he’ll lose some pounds in his trip without taking any of those.

He said, since it’s winter there, he won’t be eating much because he won’t be moving much. I argued that since it’s winter, he will be eating much to keep himself warm, and will gain weight because he won’t be moving much. We laughed as we exchanged facts in our little attempt to debate. Even if I knew that facts will be useless when my husband decides on something, anyway. He will do it no matter what.

Verdict? We will wait for the result when he comes back. ;)

sleep interrupted

Hubby’s flight was yesterday at 11am. We knew we had to leave the house by 7am to avoid the usual Sunday traffic. But we were still busy checking and packing his things at 2am. It felt that there are still some things forgotten.

He didn’t want to bring our SLR. He said it’s too heavy and bulky so he opted to just bring a point and shoot. I tease him to take pictures of his hotel room once he arrives, particularly the bathroom tiles and fixtures, which I am so finicky of.

We arrived at the airport on time. BG kept saying we were in an “airplane port” instead of just airport, which is logical, right? :) He called me when he arrived at Amsterdam. I think he was even joking about something but I didn’t quite get it. I was just happy to hear his voice. (Yuck, emo.)

I don’t feel sad but I miss him. I am happy for I know he’ll have a great time. Last night though, I couldn’t sleep much. I woke up every hour. Ugh! o-O

last minute shopping

Last Saturday, we did a lot of last minute shopping. Still, we forgot some things that are under our nice-to-have list for hubby’s business trip. At least, hubby didn’t forget to update his term insurance here as he wants to be secured whatever happens. ;)

Anyway, we especially had difficulty finding the perfect winter boots. After all, we live in a tropical country. Who would want to buy a pair of winter boots if you’re not leaving the country?

We were initially looking for Dr. Martens store but we were told it is no longer available in Trinoma. We were lucky that we saw Rockport has a couple of waterproof boots, and they are on sale! :D

Hmm, although we’re not so sure if it goes well with his newly purchased pairs of slacks.

Happy Birthday mama! :)

It is my mom’s birthday today. She opted to just cook and bake and invite everyone at home. My sister told me they are bringing cake so I thought I’d bring Pansit Malabon without asking / telling my mom. Guess what? When we got there, I saw my mom Pansit Malabon in her dining table. Oops! ;)

Anyway, my aunts and uncles came (after visiting the cemetery) too to celebrate with my mom. It was fun watching them bond. The women were like teenagers gossiping about the best weight loss pill, while the men were chatting about politics with my dad.

I ate the white forest (for the first time), and I definitely prefer the blackforest over it. Why? You see with blackforest, the sweetness of the cherry syrup is balanced with the bittersweet taste of black chocolate. While with the white forest, it’s too sweet. For me, it was like eating milk powder with cherry syrup. Well, that’s just me. ;)

ToT ’09 pictures

Just like last year, BG joined the trick or treat parade in her daddy’s building. The program started at 1pm. BG kept looking around and checking other kids. Hmm, typical female, huh? ;)

She got excited when she saw Ariel! There were two but she got excited by the one not wearing a wig and kept following her. Never too early to be a stalker! Hmm, why did that line remind me of a friend who kept telling us that it’s never too early to consider whole life insurance? :D

Anyway, there were games and there’s this particular game where the judges will choose 4 best dancers among the kids. BG was just jumping out and down getting excited with the music. So I whispered to the one playing the music to play BG’s favorite, Nobody. And yes, she won.

Unlike last year, she didn’t want to take off her wig. She only agreed to when it was time to sit down and eat her spaghetti. At 3pm the wig is back on for the parade.

I noticed she kept choosing Jelly Ace over other candies.

Anyway, after three floors, she wanted her nanny to carry her. I knew it was time to pack up. So we just went to her daddy’s floor for her last stop. She was happy to see friends she usually plays with during her daddy’s team outings.

Look at her, holding Mr. Pumpkin like a purse.

Meet Mr. Pumpkin

Before I get busy looking for the most affordable horse supplements, let me introduce to you one hardworking pumpkin basket. This is Mr. Pumpkin. You can always tell Mr. Pumpkin apart from the others as he has this obvious “scar” on his lower right chin.

He started trick or treating with my sister in law when she was just 7 years old. She is now an 18 year old lady.

Since 2007, Mr. Pumpkin had been officially assigned to BG. BG was 1 year (and 4 months) old then, and she didn’t want to hold him. Although she enjoyed the candies that Mr. Pumpkin had helped her collect.

In 2008, BG was eager enough to hold Mr. Pumpkin all throughout the parade. And this year, Mr. Pumpkin had again proven his worth. And I’m pretty sure he’ll continue to do so for the years to come.

Good job, Mr. Pumpkin!
