business opportunity

I’m thinking of putting up a new small business. Something that me and my husband can attend to during the weekends. So while my head was buzzing with promotion ideas, and even thinking of business cards printing, I asked the husband if he is willing to invest on it. He said he’s willing to invest, as in willing to give a budget but not the time though. He said that weekends are the only days that we can rest and spend time with each other and with our daughter. He has a point, really. Well, I just thought we could have another source of income. ;)

home security

With the recent incident, I am contemplating on how to secure the house that we bought when we finally moved in there. I know it’s too early to worry about it but I think it’s just timely to include security devices into our priority list.

I know there are modern furniture that could work well with these security devices. I remember seeing somewhere online a tv cabinet with lots of storage, and on the topmost part is a sensor that can be activated at night.

Well, not really planning to install something high tech. I guess installing grills in each window would be enough.

wise men

My brother asked me where he could find a reliable Forex trading software. My brothers are really into these things. I guess it’s inate for men to want to accummulate more money. It’s for the security of their future (and future family) they explained.

The older of my two brothers, I am not surprised as he was always been saving since we were young. You know like when an aunt from the U.S. will arrive giving away dollars to kids? He’d always save his, unlike us girls who never ran out of things to buy.

But the younger one, I was surprised. Because he’s the type that always had something bought, either food from a newly opened store in the neighborhood, or a string for his guitar he found at the mall. He always had something that he “needed” to buy. Hence, he never saved anything.

He changed when he started working and earning his own money. Probably because he now knows that man will grow old and man can not work forever. It’s just wise to save, and in the future, have your savings “work” for you.

no trespassing

Last night (or more like early today, it was around 1am), I heard a loud thud while I was checking my emails. Mikee was in our bedroom so I knew it wasn’t her. But the husband was still downstairs, and I thought he might have slipped and hearing that, I worried that he might have broken a bone.

But it wasn’t him. At the back part of the house, I saw a hand/arm behind the curtains (through the windows) seeming like he’s trying to reach for something. We asked who it was. No answer but the arm continued to reach for something. I asked the second time. Still, no answer. We were afraid to check behind the curtain, he might have a gun. So instead, we went in front of the house to sort of “trap” him from the other side.

I ran upstairs to get Mikee. I was shaking. My mind was freaking out, and it felt like we were about to be attacked. I forgot to lock the bedroom door, and just ran downstairs. But outside, we saw no one. We called the neighbors on our left. We all tried calling the barangay hall but no answer. There were two possibilities. The man escaped through the back. The back of our place is a commercial complex in the main road. Second, He went to the house to our right, because we saw the plants (that was supposed to block the view from each other’s houses) were crashed, like someone stepped on them.

We planned on buying exit alarm, more locks and other security devices. We are cutting trees in the garden, which we think were used as a hiding place (this isn’t the first time someone got inside, a neighbor just saw them while they were climbing over the gate, and scared them off).

Just relieved that nobody really got inside the house, or the rooms. And that we are all safe.

undecided

We are attending a wedding this month. It was stated in the invitation for the ladies to wear long evening gown. I’m not sure if I can still fit in my old evening gowns. I probably need to consider checking some corsets at the mall.

But my priority is a pair of silver shoes that would match my available (aka the only one that still fits me) blue violet gown. And up until now, I haven’t gone to the mall to even check. Because honestly, I haven’t decided yet if I should wear that gown, or opt to have something made. Geez, and it’s less than two weeks to go. Tsk tsk.

traffic jam

I’m not really what’s with E.D.S.A. this week that it had been congested every day. Last Tuesday, I thought it was only because people were all coming from the provinces from the long weekend. Then came Wednesday, heavy traffic is quite expected as this day is the so called “Baclaran” day. Plus, there was this car whose engine stopped in the middle of the road. Makes you think how important roadside assistance plans are.

But yesterday, Thursday, traffic was still horrendous. And listening to the radio, the DJs were late for their shift, each coming from different directions. Meaning both the North and South directions the situation was the same. I knew we weren’t the only one stuck in traffic. Sigh. Good thing we were listening to good music, and husband and I have more time to talk. <3
