Electronic coupons

Contribution by Kennith Griffin

We decided to get clear internet service, and it has actually ended up saving me a lot of money. I didn’t realize that my bonus card, that I use at the grocery store was connected to a web account that I could set up. On the card every week, I log on and can load all of the week’s coupons onto my bonus card. There is no clipping involved, just clicking. You have to wait for an hour for the coupons to show up, so I usually add them on Sundays when the new coupons come out. They have special store offers and also all of the manufacturer’s coupons that are in the Sunday paper. It is so easy to use! The first time I went to the store and tried to use it, I was a bit weary because I wasn’t sure that they were going to work. On my first trip I save ten dollars using my coupons. It is important that I write down everything that I am going to get and every coupon that I loaded inorder to make sure that I don’t forget anything, but the electronic coupons have made my life a lot easier. I love to use them!! I have even shown my mom how to set up an account and use the coupons. There is just something about saving money that makes you feel great!

TARGET OPENS AT MIDNIGHT

I appreciate the guest post, Jewel Rodgers

Every channel that I flip to on DIRECT TV seems to have a commercial reminded me about the holidays coming up soon and all of the Christmas shopping that I need to get done. Every website is reminding me about how early all of the stores are going to be opening. I can’t believe that Target is going to be open at midnight. I don’t ever remember them opening that early. I feel like they always open at five or six in the morning. I feel bad for the employees that work there having to be in so early. I don’t know that I will be shopping there because of that. I just don’t think that the employees are going to get to spend anytime with their families if they have to be at work at midnight! I think that Macy’s and the other stores at the mall are opening at the usual five o’clock in the morning for the buster sales. I don’t know that I am going to get in the mix. I think that I may just wait and do my Christmas shopping on Cyber Monday from the comfort of my own home. If I do that, won’t have to fight any of those awful crowds.

Moving out here

Thanks for the article from Jermaine Haynes

Taking this job was a great decision because it’s so good for my resume and I’m learning so much but I tell you what, being all the way out here in the boonies is less fun than I imagined. I literally have deer in my backyard at all hours of the day and when I go to sleep at night all I can hear is the hooting of the owls. When I was first deciding to move I thought it was a no brainer – great job, easy access to the city, etc. I saw an ad that said Click HERE for satellite internet and that made me feel more at ease about getting online way out at my house. But now that I’m here I really miss being able to walk to Starbucks and go down the street to go shopping. There’s nothing to do here and it’s all my fault because I decided to move! I’m sure I’ll get used to it but I sure do miss being in the big city for now at least…

Stay at Home or Working Mom: Which One is Better

There are conflicting arguments as to the issue between stay at home moms and working moms. Starting a family is a big decision that married couples carefully consider. The responsibility does not stop in having children, it continues to their ability to provide all their kids with a decent shelter, proper education, food and guidance.

Now regardless it doesn’t matter if a mom decided to have a career or stay at home, the task of being a mother is hard and challenging. Now, infants and young children require more care and attention which is why in these cases, moms find it practical to focus on their home and family. It provides an opportunity to closely supervise and be hands on mother. There are those who find happiness and satisfaction in devoting their time taking care of their children on a full time basis, from the moment they have to get ready for school until its time to do homework at night.

But financial restrictions are one of the reasons why mothers would have to find a job. This will mean that less time is spent with the family especially during a hectic schedule at work. One setback of being a working mom is the opportunities you missed with your kids such as school activities or milestones in their life.

It really doesn’t matter if you choose to be a stay at home or choose to follow your career path. These are not the deciding factors that will determine if you are a good mother.

Getting Things Cooled Off

Guest post written by Jean Saunders

My house in Georgia is very well insulated, and now that the weather is getting warmer, it has turned into a little oven. My husband and I find ourselves sweating when we are barely moving. When you are overheating at the dinner table and when you are watching television, you know it’s time to run the cooling system. However, the other day we attempted to turn on the cool air and we didn’t notice much of a difference in our little sweltering house. As much as it pained us, we knew that we had to get our cooling system taken care of. We quickly found some options at www.Homeproimprovement.com/sears-home-improvement/. We knew we had to act fast or we were going to be in for some uncomfortable times.

Now that we’ve regulated the temperature, we are feeling like we want to have some friends come over to watch college basketball. We were reluctant to have people over before, but now that we have a comfortable place to offer guests, we are going to start getting our friends together.

Getting the Kids Ready to go Back to School

Guest post from: Joe Castro

It seems that now-a-days kids get more days off from school than when I was attending. In addition to the holidays, there are teacher/staff days, whether closings and a list of other days that schools have seemed to come up with to clse down the school. This has given my kids more time to be out of school and “ring my nerves”. As soon as they go back there is another scheduled break to soon arrive, only weeks later. This past holiday season seemed very extended and my kids have gotten used to the vacation time. Now that it is time for the school year again, it is time for my own vacation and I have prepared accordingly. I started early by planning ahead and having a game plan. I think that structure is the key to having everything run smoothly. Even if things don’t go exactly the way we plan, the structure provides a basis to fall back on. For instance, about a week before school was to began, I prepped my kids my kids subteties. I would spontaneously mention things regarding school to condition their brains for their return. The goal was to have them thinking about school in anticipation and to not be suddenly shocked with its arrival. I was also going for enthuiasm so that they would be eager about going back. During that week I also scheduled fun outings for shopping for their favorite things that had to do with school, as I took personal time to get their neccecities. By the time school was back in session my kids were more than ready. I simply had to get them up early and ready, set the alarm from TotalAlarmsystems.com and off to school we were. Then back home for me to a nice relaxing and quiet home.

Skiing

Guest post written by Lacy Ramen

My husband and I met through a ski club. We had both been married before, he was new to the area and we clicked instantly.

I had joined the ski club at my friend’s urging and he had been a member of one where he lived before. We’ve remained members of the club ever since and have made lots of friends (who were at our wedding, of course) from it over the years.

On a trip last year when we were going down the mountain I was having a particularly hard time hearing him yell something at me. It ended up that he was trying to tell me there was a tree down up ahead. I ended up missing it anyway, but when we were at the lodge that night he told me that I needed to do something about my hearing.

I followed his advice and looked up miricle ear when we returned home from that trip. I ending up getting some hearing aids from them that you can’t really see and hearing him yell things to me while we’re skiing still isn’t easy – it never was – but it’s easier now at least.

My ice cream retirement

Guest post written by Shirley Stevens

I bought an ice cream shop about 10 years ago when I retired. I thought it would be nice excuse to get out of the house and meet new people in the south Florida beach town that I relocated to.

I have a staff of teenagers that basically run the shop when I’m not around. I don’t work there more than a few hours a day so as to actually enjoy my retirement. A lot of times I’ll even sit out on a rocking chair in front of the store front and chat with friends that come by.

One day while I was scooping out some butter pecan for some tourists I had some trouble hearing the next customer’s order. It was a little embarrassing to ask them to repeat it so many times but I filled their order and went on my way. I mentioned it to my husband that night and he said I should get a Hearing test. So I looked up some Miracle Ear Centers and scheduled a test at a nearby one. I got fitted with a hearing aid that you can barely even see, so I don’t have to worry about leaving my hair down when serving customers at my ice cream shop to hide it.
