meet ken lee

I won’t be posting the Bb. Pilipinas Q&A video anymore. I bet you’ve seen that one.

I’d like to share another one that made me laugh.

“…tulibu dibu douchoo…”
“What language is that?”, asked the judge
without batting an eyelash she answered, “English!”

Now that’s confidence!

American Idol Results

I don’t know how he knew but hubby posted the results for tonight’s American Idol.

I kinda expect Danny to be out anyway. Simon really knows what he is talking about. So there’s no use giving him the attitude.

Geez, I like Kady. :(

Well, go Ramielle! :D

American Idol Season 7

I have been an avid fan of American Idol. For season 5, I remember rooting for Taylor Hicks from the very moment I saw him play his harmonica. I actually didn’t expect him to win at all.

Then I sort of skip the last season. But now for season 7, I’m torn apart among several contenders.

Ramielle Malubay - yes, I’m baised. I like her ‘coz she’s Pinay.

Brooke White - I love her sunny disposition!

Ok, seriously now. Here are my bets.

David Archuleta - if you don’t know why, you’re probably not watching.

Kady Malloy - I must admit she kept choosing the wrong songs for her performances but I LOOOOOVE her when she does her antics backstage. The Britney, and the Opera thing. She has IT! But it seems she hasn’t decided yet on what genre she wants to be in. That’s where she fails. But she’s my bet!

the impatient generation

Have you noticed how impatient our generation has become?

Just this week, I’ve been checking my emails every now and then. I was so restless while waiting for some good news. And when I finally get some, I’d wait for more. Mind you, these were just a matter of hours, for some, minutes. But still, I was restless.

Imagine what if emails were not invented. We will have to wait for Mr. Postman to deliver the letters. That could take about a week, and another week for the reply. That would be like centuries for us.

How about when you’re about to meet someone? Hasn’t been your habit to send text/SMS to your friend updating as to your whereabouts every so often?

“Traffic is heavy. I’ll be there in 30.”
“I’m almost there. I can see the building. I’ll be there in 15.”
“I’m here. Where are you?”

So unlike those days when people just agreed on a time and a place. And people show up.

Now, we want everything fast, and instant. Come to think of it, even food!

impact of actions

When I saw the BayanTel commercial, I got a bit sad.

It starts with a rough-looking man calling a geeky guy. The geeky guy was in fact scared upon learning who his caller was. Then the caller apologized (for bullying him when they were younger). “Sorry ha.” Then the caller’s son arrived with a black eye, and sat beside him. This insinuates that he now regrets for being a bully then because his son is being bullied now. He, being a father to his son, now knows how it feels like. It smacks right where it hurts.

What saddens me was the part where his son should experience it first before realizing that his attitude was wrong. Have you noticed how they portrayed the guy that grew up being bullied? He was nervous, and insecure.

The impact is there, very evident. Even if you say you’re sorry, you have had an impact on the other guy’s life. On the guy’s disposition.

I honestly think saying sorry in this kind of situation only did good on the bully. He tried clearing his conscience.

How about the one that had been bullied?

It’s like hammering a nail on the fence. Even if you take off the nails, you can never take off the nail marks.

sinong nakapanood?

Ang galing pala kumanta ni Black Jack?! I saw him singing “beautiful girls” and he was good!

Moving On

Our friends used to tease each other with “tananananan…” in the tune of Love Story (”Where do i begin?”) when one has just said something melodramatic or sentimental.

recently, I was able to watch Casper (again) over cable. and I actually liked one line from the movie.

“I don’t have any unfinished business. Please don’t let me be yours.”

Tananananan…

Laguna by Childstar

I’ve blogged before that my brother is into bands. I’m not sure why I didn’t blogged that they were interviewed over the radio (Jam 88.3) this month. And they have a single being played now over the radio. It’s the remake of the Sampaguita original “Laguna”. And they are coming up with their own album early next year.

Anyway, if you are an early riser (or still not sleeping), catch the band “CHILDSTAR” at Umagang Kayganda (ABS-CBN Channel 2) on January 2, 2008 at 5:15am.

My brother is the lead guitarist. (Mind you, this is the same brother who, like me, is into robotics and microcontrollers. He’s an active member of Mapua Robotics team. Yes, he’s still young, still in college.)

The lead singer is the one who writes the songs but my brother helps her in putting “music” to it. Oh, oh! The lead plays the harmonica. I just love harmonica. (Basically the reason why I rooted for Taylor Hicks from the very start when I saw his little stint during the eliminations.) Their style is a bit like “moonpools and caterpillars”.

Let’s support OPM!
