Rock stars.

We are blessed with friends that have kids almost the same age as ours. So we attend parties quite a number of times within a year. (And probably our kids will start to hate having and going to parties with us, their parents at the same time. Hahaha.)

My kids do not have any qualms playing games in front, even dancing with other kids in front during “performance” part of a party.

Aside from the games and party food, they have come to love the “extra attractions” like a parlor station, but in this case, since the birthday celebrator is a boy (Joaqui of Peachy), it’s called a rock star makeover station. ;)

It was a really fun “concert” for the kids. My son even got the chance to try out Joaqui’s drum set on stage.

Rock on!

Mikee’s penpal.

When we were little, my sister and I would exchange stationery with our neighbors. Since we were never allowed to go outside of the house (to play, run or ride a bike), we contented ourselves with exchanging beautiful papers. It took a while before we can actually use our stationery to write letters, because we thought they are just too beautiful to use.

I think this is also the reason why I got hooked to making scrapbooks, I still love using beautiful papers. It also took me a while before I got used to “destroying” (cutting, distressing, etc) these papers.

Now that I have my own daughter, I can’t help but smile when she actually use those stationery that we buy or she gets as gifts. At least, she doesn’t get too caught up admiring the papers (like I did when I was little).

Just last weekend, she received a letter from her friend. The Tuxedo Sam stationery and Zashikibuta sticker brought back sweet childhood memories.

And she immediately, wrote a reply.

…which she hasn’t sent yet. Haha. I’m adding this to my to-do list: deliver this mail to her friend this coming weekend.

Her new sketchbook.

After watching Sisterakas (movie) last month, my daughter decided she wants to be a fashion designer slash chef. Yes, she still wants to be a chef! Hahaha.

She started drawing sketches of her designs which, according to her, belong to her summer collection. Lucky for her, one of Theo’s Godfathers gave her a Designer Sketchbook “Style me up”.

She was so excited she started “sketching” as soon as we opened it.

Disney on Ice 2012.

It was October last year when I was informed by other mommy blogger friends that Disney on Ice will be in town again last December until first week of January. We missed the one in September so I planned on seeing this. But when I learned that it will be Disney Princesses and Heroes, I hesitated. Theo loves Mickey Mouse, and I thought it would be a waste of money if we see this without Mickey Mouse.

Luckily, my (FIL and) MIL decided to treat Mikee to this Disney on Ice show. She loves princesses and I knew she would have fun. She watched it with her grandma and aunt, and she had a blast! She had so much fun, she now wanted a Disney princess party (instead of princess popstar) for her birthday. That is if we decide to give her a party. Haha.

Btw, Mickey and Minnie were there during the show as hosts. So yeah, Theo would have enjoyed too. ;)

Of course, she went shopping.

December round up.

Obviously, I took a vacation from blogging during the holidays. So here’s a round up of my favorite month, December.

1. I joined the Nike run. 10k at that! And it was my first time! It was one of the greatest feeling to finish, but my time isn’t my best yet. I am just glad I was able to finish it. :)

2. Mikee got a video message from Santa Claus. *wink* *wink*

3. Went out on a gimmick with husband, and his sibs and cousins… on Christmas! Fun!

4. The kids received a lot of toys last Christmas, but Theo has a favorite, his red car. He can play with it for hours, so unlike with his other toys.

5. I turned a year older.

That’s it!
Hello 2013!

ToT 2012

When I saw this teaser, I was disheartened because Mikee’s Trick-or-Treat activity in school is also on the same date. So I talked to Mikee and asked her if she wants to join Theo in our office’s Trick or Treat. Of course, I’d want them to be together in the activities. But she declined, saying, “I don’t want to join in your office. I want to be with my friends.”

How can you argue with that? So instead, I just took pictures of her before she went to school.

While our little boy had fun!

Even before the rounds, Theo was hyperactive running around with his bucket. He enjoyed getting the candies, even putting some in other kids’ pumpkin baskets. But he only gets one or two candies at a time. I was surprised he still got many, enough to last 2-3 weeks. But he got so hungry, he had a burger, pasta and milk just after going around 2 floors.

Christmas 2012 wish list.

It’s that time of the year again, almost Christmas but not quite. Yet, mommies are aware that come December, everybody will be very busy attending different Christmas parties and get-together’s. That’s why we plan early. We are having our (advanced) Christmas party slash (post) Halloween party this November.

Aside from playing with their friends, the kids are looking forward to their Christmas gifts. So I’m sharing my kids’ wish list.

Mikee loves little dolls, and she had been wanting for her “Dolly” to have a friend. So if you want to win her heart this Christmas, you may want to check out these Polly Pockets (P400 each).

Theo loves toy cars. And I’m pretty sure you won’t be giving him an electronic car that he can actually ride so I’m sharing something realistic. Haha. Just give him a toy car big enough that he would be unable to put inside his mouth.

Doodles.

I’ve been seeing photos taken in front of graffiti walls. And I think it’s nice because of the splash of colors, and its funkiness. One of the popular walls is the one near Manila Cathedral in Intramuros, which is far from where we live so I never had a chance to check that. So I was happy to see a narrow street near our place to have graffiti on it. I asked my daughter to pose for me, just so I can check if the wall is photogenic.

Btw, I was told that they have graffiti walls in the UP campus, which is just 10 minute drive from our house, and where we jog/run on weekends.

What poison should taste like.

Some updates on my not-so-little girl. This is a layout I made last month.

Last August 19th, Mikee started to have a fever, but even after taking Dolan, her temp didn’t seem to lower. Good thing that there were no classes on the 20th and 21st. We rushed her to the ER in the morning of the 21st, and amazingly, her temp lowered in just less than an hour, and we were advised to go home.

Feeling much better, I’ve let her watch TV, but I just turned it on without minding what channel it was. I even kept glancing on the TV, so I was able to catch the story. I only realized the show wasn’t for her when she asked me…

Translation:
Mikee: What happened to the coffee?
Me: She put in poison.
Mikee: And it still tastes good?
