Mikee now on her terrible two

Last Saturday, we had our little girl’s birthday celebration at home. No kids, hence, no children’s party. Just a little get-together with friends and relatives.

One of very few pictures of Mikee smiling.

Mikee with her aunts, me on the background, hehe

Mikee had changed her clothes and was eating spaghetti. She didn’t want any help from me. That explains the mess.

I’ll upload more pics later. :)

Happy Birthday Mikee!

Today is one hectic day. It is Mikee’s birthday. We don’t intend to celebrate it today. Instead we’ll have a simple get-together tomorrow. Guess what? We’ve done the shopping only today! Yeah, don’t you just love to cram? Hehehe. Mikee was crying when she noticed that daddy and mommy were all dressed up while she was still wearing her house clothes. She sensed that she’s not coming with us. I felt guilty. It’s her birthday, why let her cry? So we brought her with us to the grocery store. She loves running around the grocery store. Aside from buying stuff for tomorrow’s party, we canvassed for affortable indoor dog potty. ;)

We bought a simple cake for tonight. We were planning to have a nicer cake for tomorrow but we were told that should have been pre-ordered 3 days ago. Boo!

Anyway, I’m still working at this hour while everybody’s busy at the kitchen. Geez, I can feel the pressure. Wish me luck.

Happy weekend everyone!

office: day 2

My body aches. I think I am no longer used to travelling. For only 2 days of reporting to the office, my back and hips are aching. Geez, am I that old?

And the workload. I’m starting to wonder why I have wanted to work. Oh, yeah, the paycheck. Hahaha.

There are some good news coming in via emails, for this month.

3 days away from Mikee’s birthday, we havn’t decided yet what food to prepare for the get-together. (yes, get-together, not really a party.)

on saving mode

We went to the nearest KFC and inquired about their party packages. I think whoever thought of getting the rights of Barney as their party theme for KFC is a genius. I wouldn’t really consider KFC as a party venue but because (Barney is one of Mikee’s favorite characters and) KFC is offering Barney as one of their party themes, we took time to check their packages.

But anyway, I’ve come to my senses and realized that we could save 3 quarters of what we’ll be spending on KFC if we’ll hold the party at home. Yes, hubby had been telling me this but stubborn that I am, I insisted on checking the party packages. But my objective for this year is to save, save and save. Always thinking of the best saving strategy like 0 balance transfer rather than accumulating interests with annual fees.

So there. We’ll just hold the party at home. We’ll just buy piñatas (or pabitins as Alpha had suggested) and some loot bags for the kids (which won’t be as many as 30, the minimum number for a party package).

Geez, I feel good about this.

a month to go

I don’t know how but we will!

Prepare Mikee’s birthday party, that is. It’s just a month away. Yet, we haven’t done anything. As previously agreed upon, we will have a simple party this year (next big party is on her 7th). But still, I suspect fastfood chains are fully booked by now. If that’s the case, we’ll hold a simple get-together at home. Sorry kids no games ‘coz Mikee’s mommy doesn’t know how to host party games. Hehehe.

I’ll post an update hopefully next week. Keeping my fingers crossed. :D

the pix are here!!!

i was sleeping (for 3 hours pa lang) when hubby showed me CDs from John Aguas. Mikee’s birthday pics are here! i got up, resized the pics, emailed some to my FIL, posted at my multiply, friendster and webshots, emailed these links to my aunts abroad and of course, posted my supplier reviews here in my blog and at the GT board. whew!

di bale ng kulang sa tulog, basta pagdating sa pics, addict! :D

yesterday, I was able to get Mikee’s gown, pinata and guestbook. and today, bought pinata candies and stockings for her shoes (hindi pwedeng wala, baka masakit sa paa). the shoes I bought last Tuesday from Landmark for only P187.75. I saw a lot of inexpensive pairs there which I plan to buy for the next few months. Sobrang cute, like a pink leather sandals (can’t remember the brand, but i remember the stall anyway).

another good news is, my parents-in-law gave several packs of chocolates. so we were able to add 4 twix and 1 snickers (minis) to each giveaway backpack.

hay, salamat, makapag-beauty rest na nga. :D
