I think it’s high time I share what I know about choosing a domain name. It seems that by the time a friend or an acquaintance asks me my opinion of the new domain name, it has been purchased already. A little reminder, I am not an expert. I am just blogging what I have learned while pondering with mine.

1. Make it relevant to your content. Or at least your targetted audience. Bloggerhappy - I blog on an impulse. Berryscrappy - it is about scrapping. (There are some things related to scrapping like cats, sugar and in my case, berries)

2. Make it short. If it isn’t a business name, go with a one or two-word domain name. They say 12 characters max. The only ones that can get away with the long ones are the ones that are common remarks, quotes, song/movie titles, etc. (You get what I mean)

3. Make it simple. Here’s a test that I actually did before finally deciding on bloggerhappy. Ask a 7-year-old to spell the words for you. If he/she can spell it correctly, then it’s good.

4. Avoid plural words (ending with ’s’) and the “the” word. Why? because people often forget. Same goes with dash and underscore.

5. This one I didn’t follow. Don’t use words that can be spelled in many or slang ways. Like “hapi” for “happy”, “2″ for “to” or “n” for “and”. Why? Again, people tend to forget.

This is why some people cash in on the alter domain name. If you think twopeasinabucket.com is great, you’re sure to get hits for 2peasinabucket.com without much plugging.

6. Go for the .com. I know some people may argue but not all people are net-savvy. When you say a domain, people tend to think .com instead of .net, .us, .ph etc.

That’s all I could think of. Feel free to comment to add more to the list. Again, I’m no expert. Just sharing.

While I was chatting with my sister-in-law, an idea crossed my mind. (It’s pretty obvious how *busy* we both are with our work huh? ) We were chatting how to effectively go on a strict diet.

I have this nasty habit of munching when I am bored. Yes, munching chips, cookies or fries. Munching the boredom away. Hahaha.

So I thought, why not just scrap when bored? Not a bad idea…yiheeee!  ;)

Since I”m so swamped with work (but I’ll blog and bloghop tonight), I’ll leave you with one question…

If 4 out of 5 suffer from diarrhea, does that mean 1 enjoys it?

Europe. the sister and the future brother in law agreed on spending their honeymoon in Europe.  But what countries in Europe in particular? No, their decision isn’t final yet.

I am contemplating whether hubby and I save for it. But honestly? Too expensive. I’d probably wait for a business trip (impossible for now, my project is Asia only, but who knows, maybe later)

Oh, let me go back to my original entry…and the winner is…Manny Pacman Pacquiao!!! Congrats Manny!

I’m bored.

I’m waiting for a huge file to be uploaded to the server before I start my processing. Ho-hum…So bored, I’m seriously considering updating my wordpress to the latest version now. I’m sure that my themes will work just fine ‘coz my scrap blog uses the latest version.

But what if it goes berzerk? Geez, too lazy to think…Some other time. Blah!

Ok, my initial plan was to announce today about the new blog. But it’s not ready yet. Well, it is. The theme isn’t. Yes, I’ve been busy setting up the new one. It only took me few hours. But I want it to carry at least 3 free themes before releasing it to the public. Plus the long overdue friendster overlay freebie and tutorial. My friends on my friendster list have been asking when this will be for the last 2 years??? So I guess, you can expect that this month.

Plus, I’m really busy with work. Yes, I’m a working woman, remember?

And my little girl is so cute playing around me. I just couldn’t resist taking a break and play with her. Golly, they say little girls are much tamer than the little boys. Geez, I always thought Mikee roams, plays and climbs too much, really.

Oh well, that’s it for me. Got to go, time to bond with hubby.

The other night, a guy friend sent me a picture taken on his birthday at their house way back in 2002. He even told me his mom found me so pretty.

Yes, i was this thin 4 years ago. i actually got inspired to shed these extra 20 pounds. Now, that’s the challenge. ugh!

So let me clear one thing: for this year, it’s either I get PREGNANT or I LOSE the extra pounds. Yes, I like extremes!!!
