So before I start writing my blogs I usually have an idea of the topic I want to write about, whether it is another great idea for keeping he kids entertained during the holidays, somewhere fabulous we visited or simply easy to make recipes, the plan is in my head before I start typing. Today was a little different.
A friend of mine mentioned that she had seen that dad blogs were becoming popular, and while I had heard a little about them, I assumed they would be all cars and sports so I have never taken much notice. How wrong was I? Today I thought I wanted to write about dad blogs so of course that meant doing some research into them. I was amazed.
They don’t just talk about cars and boys stuff, well not all the time. I found several that were actually really amusing, it was nice to see other people’s families were just as dotty as mine. There are a whole load of them out there but here are a few I found that caught my eye.
Theoutdoorsdad.com is a great new site that should be at the top of everyone’s watch list. The posts are interesting and inspiring. They are ideal for anyone with a love of the outdoors, or those who want to be more active outside of the home. It is not all about camping trips and nature walks though, also including are posts about great days out for the family. Keep your eye on this one, it is going to be big.
Frugaldaddy.co.uk is perfect for those looking for hints and tips on how to save money each month. Feeding a family and having enough money to cover the bills is heard for most of us, but if there is a way to save then frugaldaddy can help.
Singleparentdad.blogspot.co.uk is a great little blog for single parents, families with both parents, and well pretty much anyone really. The topics are fun and interesting and range from days out to restaurant trips and also fun stories about what the child recently got up to. A nice light-hearted blog for a Sunday afternoon read.
We couldn’t talk about a daddy blog without mentioning appsplayground.com, perfect for all those men, women and children who love to play games or download apps to make their lives just a little bit easier. It is definitely a gadget sort of blog, but it is really useful and informative. One to bookmark for a later date I think.
If you, like me want to be inspired by something completely different then search out a few dads blogs and give them a read. I have found some great gift ideas and some fun days out options that I would never have considered before. When you find out someone else’s children of around the same age really enjoyed it, well that is enough for me to take a chance and have a great day out.
