coolest job

This is the last day of the week but first day of work for me. I was on leave Monday and Tuesday, and was on training Wednesday and Thursday. I guess I’m still not in my working mood.

Anyway, the training was boring. The only time I got interested was when the trainor told us (chismis) about this local company on the brink of getting behind its competitors. So what the company did was hire someone from abroad to clean up the corporate “mess”. The first thing that this person did was asked all employees to log everything they do every 15 minutes. So based on those logs, they fired everyone (regardless of tenure) with redundant or unimportant roles. This person will leave the country after a year or so. Geez, you travel to another country to fire people then go home. Coolest job huh?

Note: I think ABS-CBN has done this in the past.

copycat

Yesterday, I checked my emails but can not connect to the office network. I brushed it off since I didn’t really need to check them yesterday.

But I was really irritated that this morning, I still can not connect. I knew it wasn’t a password issue because I can connect to other office websites that needed the same username and password. I even tried connecting to different mail exchange servers.

What irritated me more was that I was transferred from one agent to another by the company call center without even investigating on my issue. I thought, maybe I should figure it out myself.

It turned out I wasn’t the only one who can not connect. Well, when I got to the office, I was so desperate I have reset my password. Yeah, it works in the office alright. But when I got back home this evening, I still could not connect.

Alas, I just copied every little detail of hubby’s email setup. It worked! Finally!

whew, it’s friday again!

Thank God it’s Friday! Nope, I have no plans this weekend, which is exactly the plan. Confusing huh? Haha.

I think the job is starting to burn me out. I badly need this two-day break. Oh, one more thing I love about my job is that hubby and I are both free on weekends. Well, technically, I’m not really that free yet ‘coz I haven’t fully trained the weekend people to handle the work. But I will Tuesday next week. And I’d probably let them handle it the following weekend but I still need to monitor for the first few weeks.

Ok, a few more weeks and I can go back to my normal life again. ;)

time bomb

I’m on the verge of quitting my job. I keep forgetting the things that I previously committed to. I’m quite sure this is one major sign that my mind is giving up the career soon.

I love my career. In fact, I’m proud to be part of the company. But I could no longer handle the stress and the unhappiness it gives me. All the work that no one appreciates except my husband. It isn’t worthy anymore, of my time and of my effort. Time and effort it strips off my supposedly bonding time with my daughter and my ME time.

I don’t know how much longer I could hold on.

going lomo

OMG! I am so excited! I’ve signed up for a free lesson on lomography in our company. It is just one of the Advanced Photography Series. (I missed the other lessons although I was not interested on them anyway. One previous lesson was how to cash in on photography.)

The speakers will be from the Lomo Manila. No, I don’t have any lomo equipment. I’m just a mere fan of these pictures. But they said attendees are not required to have any lomo knowledge or equipment. Goodie!

There. I’ve blogged it. Lessens the excitement a bit.

I wonder if there’s Holga at Henry’s. ;)

one practical woman

I took half day off yesterday. Just to take a rest. I wasn’t feeling well lately. Anyway, I’m going to the office today to attend a meeting. I’m so excited to use my new laptop bag:

Remember the ones that I first fell in love with? My sister’s fiancee was willing to received it for me while he was in the US. But I didn’t buy ‘coz I know I’d feel guilty about it.

Good thing ‘coz my new laptop bag is way more affordable! Now that’s practicality. :)

why did i miss that meeting?

I was absent on twitter today. I was very busy with work. There were 2 critical issues assigned to me just when I was supposed to take a leave. I’m so stressed, sometimes I want to just take any admin jobs. My sore throat hurts and my back is aching. I can’t just take a leave because I have no back up.

I missed several team meetings for I badly needed full concentration to solve the issues.

Anyway, when I was about to log off after working for 13 hours, I saw an email asking for cheer dancer volunteers. Geez, since surely, nobody wants to, I know people tend to vote for people who were not around during the meeting. U-oh!

office: day 2

My body aches. I think I am no longer used to travelling. For only 2 days of reporting to the office, my back and hips are aching. Geez, am I that old?

And the workload. I’m starting to wonder why I have wanted to work. Oh, yeah, the paycheck. Hahaha.

There are some good news coming in via emails, for this month.

3 days away from Mikee’s birthday, we havn’t decided yet what food to prepare for the get-together. (yes, get-together, not really a party.)
