The other day before our shift started, my husband and I decided to buy a sandwich each for late lunch. The sandwiches were done in front of us. Since I have yet to try taking weight loss supplements and solely depend on my desire to lose weight, I ate half of my HBLT but decided to just eat the other half for dinner. I wish I did not as I could no longer eat it after reading an email like this one forwarded by an officemate.

Of course, I did not have the same incident. It’s just that I could imagine everything that was in the email. Ugh!

Around 2 this morning, I was daydreaming about myrtle beach hotels oceanfront. Then I realized I’m in a pose. A pose so familiar, that it brought back memories.

I was holding a small cup on one hand mid air (like I’m about to make a toast), while my other hand rested on my waist. Funny how seven years could bring so much change to you, even if you’re just standing still. Because that’s how I feel, that I stood still when I realized that there are things in life that I will never have control of. All I can do is enjoy every second that passes by.

I was actually holding a cup of fabric softener waiting for the washing machine to come to its rinse cycle. Thus, the pose. Seven years ago, with that very same pose, a cup in my hand meant tequila.

I suddenly grew tired of standing still.

For the fifth year now, I can’t think of a cheesy anniversary message for you. Maybe, next year. No hurries. We have a whole lifetime, anyway.

Five years of getting married is a milestone, especially for people who are still trying to figure out how it is to balance married life with their lives that they had been used to. While some celebrate their anniversaries through an out of town or country trip, others save up for renewal of their vows.

First, I am not sure about the purpose of such suggestion or proposal. All I could think of is that they’ve thought about the money they’ll get from people who’d renew their contracts. I honestly think there are pros and cons on this. Because I could think of a hundred good reason for this if we’re talking about battered wives.

It’s just that this country has been pushing back the idea of divorce but now, suggesting the expiration date on marriage contracts. Quite a conflict there, in my opinion. For me, marriage is sacred, and a promise made by two people in front of the altar. (Although honestly, if it was just civil wedding, then it’s I guess it’s ok. Yeah, I’m weird. I know.)

I met up with my two close, if not best friends yesterday. It was nice to reminisce about the old days. I’m so happy thinking that we’ve been friends for more than 16 years now. Funny that we hardly see each other these days but always feel the closeness when we’re together and just pick up where we left off.

We’re all mothers now. Gone are the days that we were whispering with each other giggling like little kids about boys and makeup. Now, it’s all about our husbands, kids and family stuff. We’re women now!

While Claire has 3 kids now, Sweet is 5 months pregnant today! She and her husband opted not to know the gender of their baby and just wait till the baby is born. I guess I will just have to wait for their baby girl announcements. Yup. Just looking at her tummy, my guess is that they’re having a baby girl. Just a guess.

We also met with Ate Marvi, who plays a big part in our bonding sessions (then and now) as she was the one who reminded us of our “naughtiness” in our college years.

*sigh* Don’t you just love having great friends?

I had 3 chocolate mini-bars, 2 cups of coffee, 1 KFC snack box, 1 regular size frozen yogurt and 1 piece of hotdog for the entire day. I think eating those mini-bars defy my no-rice diet. I bet those mini foods were made to make you feel less guilty. Doesn’t matter as I had three, probably equivalent to more than just one big bar.

I still shy away from treadmills and ellipticals. I am too stubborn to do anything physical that isn’t part of what is necessary.

Thus, the bulge.

Today, I sort of “guided” some friends book their summer getaways while cebu pac is having their 50% sale. Everybody seemed to be happy with their booked trips.

Sadly, some former patrons of these seat sales are still mad over the special child discrimination that happened recently. A mother and her special son were initially denied to board since there’s a policy not allowing TWO special kids on board at the same flight.

I understand the frustration felt by fellow parents about the incident. I can’t think of a good reason for the said company policy. So everybody can book, but if you have a special child, you’d go running to the plane to make sure your child is the FIRST special child on board? Tsk tsk.
