My face, arms and thighs. Ugh!

How was your Christmas? Mine felt like a pigging out contest!

I must congratulate myself for avoiding rice for the past two weeks. But believe me, I still gained the extra pounds for overeating pasta and cake. I guess since my stomach was so used to being heavy with rice consumption, I sort of always thought I was hungry since my stomach felt light. Or was it from being too tired shopping and carrying all those promotional products for give-aways, that I always wanted to eat after?

Whatever. It’s the holidays so I’m excused. I gave myself freedom to gain 5 pounds max while on vacation.

Christmas is so much fun! I love that I was able to give gifts. What amazed me this year was I love (ok, some I just like, but at least not I hate) all the gifts I received!

They’re not as luxurious as Ferrari parts, some are so simple that I actually been meaning to buy for myself only I was too busy to. At least a friend or relative had done it for me, without me telling, or even hinting I need one.

Thanks everyone. It was really a Merry Christmas.

Today, we went to my parents’ place. We had to. I wish I knew how to receive a check by phone. No, just kidding. We wanted to celebrate Christmas with them, even a day later, and I was excited to see their faces when they opened their gifts from us.

We had a long discussion about the upcoming election, and a friendly little debate as to who the president we are rooting for. And quite expectedly, we took a “stroll down the memory lane”.

Got presents from my parents and my sister (and brother in law). A brother kept asking me what I want for my birthday. I told him twice that I can’t think of any. Really, I can’t think of any. I just told him not to forget to greet me on my birthday.

Wait, that only applies to my brothers, ok? If it’s the husband asking, I’d probably have lots to tell.

Is it just me or there’s so much food to eat everywhere?

Who can resist the cheesy pasta, creamy soup, yummy shrimps, juicy barbeque and all other sugar-filled desserts? Aargh! Maybe everytime I eat out on a party, I’d take appetite suppressants so I won’t feel any guilt.
Just like last night, the husband suddenly thought of ordering pizza and spicy chicken. I couldn’t resist eating! I imagine the extra pounds adding up on my waistline. Tsk, tsk.

And it isn’t Christmas yet!!! I’m pretty sure I’ll have carbo overload for the next couple of days. Yikes!

This is what I like about working for an IT solutions company. We don’t have work on Christmas and New Year! We call it the Christmas shutdown. These non work days are computed along with other local holidays at the start of a fiscal year. So everyone will have a great time during the holidays with their loved ones.

So for two weeks, I’ll be stress-free! Woohoo!

Today I had a wakeup call. It brought back a desire that had long been suppressed to give way to one unselfish calling. But as they say, desires are nourished by delays.

I was sad. Even if it was expected, for when I have chosen, I knew of the consequences. I had to do what I had chosen to do. I had to be ready for the repercussions. But I wasn’t. I thought I was.

This time, I choose to give in to this one desire, knowing that even if I don’t, I can be happy. I just want to be happier.

Yesterday, as soon as BG entered our gate, she announced that we will “buy a —tar!”
The announcement was so loud it can be an effective school alert system. Hahaha. We kept wondering what “tar” was, until she started strumming her fingers on her belly. Oooh, a guitar! We told her it’s called a guitar. So she now kept telling us to buy her a guitar, uhm, more than 5 times a day. We had no idea where that came from.

But today, I saw on her journal, (the teacher wrote) to bring a guitar or drum for their Christmas school play. That explains everything!

So I guess Doctor BG will have to take a backseat and make way for Musician BG.

I am so happy that the husband is back. Along with that, the appetite is so back that I had 4 meals today. And I was able to sleep soundly last night, and had a nap this afternoon. I bet I’ll gain back the 2 pounds I lost while he was away. Oh well.

It felt good to talk to him in person again. It was kind of weird to chat with him about work, BG, and other million mundane things such as identity theft protection over YM and webcam. At least now, I can sleep at night with the TV turned off, with him sleeping beside me.

I was looking at this new york discount hotel over the internet, and I can’t help but admire New York city. Why? I noticed that most of those who want to make it big in the US, wanted to make it big in New York! Yes, this is where it all happens! So tourism isn’t such a problem, and needs little effort. How I wish the Philippines could attract so many tourists as well.

Just recently, I was admiring the efforts of the Philippine Department of Tourism (PDOT) in promoting the country with a mini music video by APL of the Black Eyed Peas, Take Me To The Philippines. I even saw over at MTV, Secretary Durano ‘interviewing’ APL. I thought it is a good idea to attract tourism in the country.

But with the recent Maguindanao massacre, I felt the efforts were now put into waste.

I know a lot are busy shopping today with a lot of stores offering Black Friday doorbusters. I myself shopped a little. Nothing special, just a toy for our little girl and 2 pieces of SDHC cards for our DSLR. You might be wondering why 2 pieces, it’s because only 4 gigs were on sale.

I tried looking for cheap Custom usb drive, EHD and other things that I could use to make storing data easier. Also, for nice pair of shoes for the little girl. But till now, I can’t find anything that is cheaper than what is available locally.

I’m still waiting for new “doorbusters” items for tomorrow at our favorite online store. I hope the wait is all worth it.

Wow amazing, two weeks had passed since the husband left for Poland. A week more to go, and we’ll see him again (in person I mean, we chat with webcam anyway hehehe). I just hope and pray that there’s no need to extend his business trip as I badly need my appetite and sleep back.

Cebu Pacific had two piso seat sales for the last 30 days (one in October 30th and another one that just started last Friday). But so far, we haven’t been able to grab any. Oh believe me, I had plenty of chances. I just wanted to make sure everybody was good to go. Well, I guess it wasn’t meant to be.

And the March trip looks a little bleak now. The husband will still be busy with work by then. He gave a go signal for November though.

I actually got excited by these seat sales but the adrenaline rush died down easily as the seats on sale started to “disappear” on the very first night I learned about it. *I learned about it last Friday but the press release was the promo would start on Saturday. And yet, I wasn’t able to book any.
