this one failed big time.

Mikee had fun Trick or Treat’ing yesterday at her daddy’s building. She had so many sweets received, but not as many as from the previous years. She’s been sharing lots of chocolates with me that I’ve started to look for treatment for acne. I’ve eaten so much!

Anyway, I was disappointed at how the program went. They started so late, didn’t give away the food right away and the program seemed so unplanned. First, I initially thought of leaving the office by 4pm because I need to go home to attend a 7pm meeting. I know it would be hard for us to go home if we’re still in Makati by 5pm. Alas, at 3:30pm, the program hasn’t started yet.

During the games, the host took 2 mins to think of EACH item for the bring-me game. Yes, I actually timed her. Argh. They should have thought of that beforehand.

And the food! We were told we can just get the food AFTER the parade! Are you kidding? It is snack time for these kids! OMG!

This was my 4th time to attend a trick-or-treat at the same building so I can actually compare. But since they are all just volunteers, I still say, CHEERS!

Just like last year, Mikee joined the trick or treat parade in her daddy’s building. The program started at 1pm. Mikee kept looking around and checking other kids. Hmm, typical female, huh? ;)

She got excited when she saw Ariel! There were two but she got excited by the one not wearing a wig and kept following her. Never too early to be a stalker! Hmm, why did that line remind me of a friend who kept telling us that it’s never too early to consider whole life insurance? :D

Anyway, there were games and there’s this particular game where the judges will choose 4 best dancers among the kids. Mikee was just jumping out and down getting excited with the music. So I whispered to the one playing the music to play Mikee’s favorite, Nobody. And yes, she won.

Unlike last year, she didn’t want to take off her wig. She only agreed to when it was time to sit down and eat her spaghetti. At 3pm the wig is back on for the parade.

I noticed she kept choosing Jelly Ace over other candies.

Anyway, after three floors, she wanted her nanny to carry her. I knew it was time to pack up. So we just went to her daddy’s floor for her last stop. She was happy to see friends she usually plays with during her daddy’s team outings.

Look at her, holding Mr. Pumpkin like a purse.

Meet Mr. Pumpkin

Before I get busy looking for the most affordable horse supplements, let me introduce to you one hardworking pumpkin basket. This is Mr. Pumpkin. You can always tell Mr. Pumpkin apart from the others as he has this obvious “scar” on his lower right chin.

He started trick or treating with my sister in law when she was just 7 years old. She is now an 18 year old lady.

Since 2007, Mr. Pumpkin had been officially assigned to Mikee. Mikee was 1 year (and 4 months) old then, and she didn’t want to hold him. Although she enjoyed the candies that Mr. Pumpkin had helped her collect.

In 2008, Mikee was eager enough to hold Mr. Pumpkin all throughout the parade. And this year, Mr. Pumpkin had again proven his worth. And I’m pretty sure he’ll continue to do so for the years to come.

Good job, Mr. Pumpkin!

It’s Mikee’s second time to do Trick-or-Treat’ing yesterday. Here are some pictures.

Expectedly, Mikee didn’t want to wear the wig after a short time of trying it on. Oh well.

And of course, the loots! I separated the hard candies which I gave to Mikee’s yaya. :D

(Company) Trick or Treat

yesterday Mikee went trick or treating in our office. it was very tiring for me ‘coz i had to carry Mikee around the 4 floors that our company occupies. (i can not let her walk kasi nacu-curious sya pabalik balik)

hubby asked me why i did not just let the yaya carry her instead. i just smiled. he teased me saying, “gusto mo lang iyabang anak mo eh.”

the planned program didn’t pushed thru. no idea why. i took a couple of shots at first but Mikee was too restless (she wanted to play with the older kids), i had to supervise her myself. imagine, may isang boy dun dumapa, at itong c Mikee dinaganan parang ire-wrestle nya!!! (this she got from watching tv with her daddy. hahaha)

i did not take pictures during the parade. hassle kasi buhat ko si Mikee on one hand, and the pumpkin basket on the other. daming din natuwa kay Mikee ‘coz she kept smiling (but was too tired on the last floor – my floor – and sleepy kaya reactionless na sya nun). there was this guy who wore a very scary mask, and tried to scare Mikee “Aaaarrr!” napahiya sya kc natawa si Mikee sa kanya, nagtawanan tuloy mga tao.

(i segregated the soft from the hard candies. i gave the hard candies to the maid and yaya. while mentos goes to daddy’s car.)

Mikee now knows how to trick or treat somehow. everytime you give her candies, she’d put it in her pumpkin basket.

we went home tired but happy. next year uli! ;)
